Reason:  A couple of 4th place teams square off here on Monday as the New Jersey Devils take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Devils are 4th in the Atlantic division while the Lightning are 4th in the Southeast division. G Martin Brodeur expected to get the night off here on Monday. But since I’m taking the UNDER, I like this event. Brodeur is 6-8 this season with a lofty 3.18 GAA and a save percentage of just .884. Johan Hedberg will likely get the start tonight and he has been much better between the pipes. Hedberg is 8-5-1 with a 2.26 GAA and a save percentage of .915. But what I like about the UNDER here tonight is that neither of these clubs are good scoring teams. Tampa Bay is tied for 20th in scoring (2.52 GPG) while the Devils are 27th (2.32 GPG). But over the last seven games those numbers are even worse, with the Devils averaging just 2.29 and the Lightning coming in at 1.86. With Hedberg in the nets I like this UNDER even more and expect a tough game played between the blue lines here. Take the UNDER on Monday evening.
