There are four World Junior Hockey game on the slate today, including Team Canada vs. USA (7:30 p.m. ET, TSN).

Let’s look at a few betting opportunities for this game beginning with straight up odds to win as well as puckline odds (i.e. goal spread).

First the straight up odds to win:

Canada
1.18
1.17
Payoff on $100 bet
$18
$17

USA
4.75
4.50
Payoff on $100 bet
$375
$350

Because Canada is such a big favorite, the odds are not very attractive. The odds for Team Canada are slightly betting at Bet365.com, however, you would have risk more than $550 to win $100.

As for the U.S., a small wager on the longshot might be worth the risk. A $20 bet a Team USA at Bet365.com would net you $75 if the Americans were to pull off a miracle.

Let’s now look at the Puckline odds:

Canada
-1.5 1.64
-2.5 2.10
-1.5 1.71
Payoff on $100 bet
$64
$110
$87

USA
+1.5 2.15
+2.5 1.65
+1.5 2.10
Payoff on $100 bet
$115
$65
$110

In this case, I would suggest that 5Dimes.com has the best odds if you were to bet on Team Canada. The Canadians would only have to win by two goals and the payoff is the most generous of the three.

If you wanted to bet on the U.S., I would be inclined to go with Bwin.com. The payoff is as generouls as the other two books, but Team USA could lose by two goals and still cover the spread.

Bet365.com, Bwin.com and 5Dimes.com are safe, reliable, licenced sportsbooks that accept Canadian players. I highly recommend all three of them.
